Life after Work Injury...

The restrictions are many. I personally can't imagine a productive life in any technology-related career, but as I maintain, my brain still works. I am confident enough of my abilities to manage the tasks before me. I am humble enough to realize the cost factor for consideration., I list the following:

à 15 minutes of Keyboarding/hour

à Alternating sitting and standing every 15 minutes with a mobile workstation and chair

à No prolonged pointing (no more than 3 minutes)

à Voice-Activated/Recognition Software

à Wireless Phone Headset with Voice Dial

Before the Municipality Experience

For over a decade, I served in the City of Oakland, under a single classification, but with a diverse number of working tasks. But what is not readily known is my life before the City of Oakland.

I have a wonderfully colored employment history and those experiences make me the economically valid choice for those seeking the most for their dollar. Even when factoring my now permanent disability requirements, the cost for those accommodations when compared to the value of my skills and experience, the outcome is an excellent ROI.

I worked as a Financial and College Advisor, a personal assistant to a Human Resources Manager, I have managed a sporting goods store, provided technical support to the disabled through a college disabled student's center. I have made pizzas, sandwiches, sold erotic toys.

I completed my BA, in Political Science, earning Magna Cum Laude honors. All of this is long before the beginning of my career. And definitely before my injury.
